Serving as a practitioner dedicated to advancing risk-based assurance practices within highly regulated environments, she recognized a recurring pattern: organizations were making critical decisions based on compliance checklists rather than true defensibility.
When auditors arrived, or when conditions shifted, the rationale behind past choices had vanished. The institutional memory was gone, leaving teams unable to explain why a specific path was chosen.
